YahooMail.com is one of the largest and most popular web based email service alongside with Hotmail and Gmail. When you create a YahooMail.com account, you also create a Yahoo ID which is usable with the many other Yahoo services.

Signing up with YahooMail.com
You need to fill in basic information for your YahooMail.com account. The requirements to get a YahooMail.com account is quite minimal.

If you are using your own personal computer, remember to check the "Keep me signed in box", so that you don't have to login to your YahooMail.com account everytime. However, if you are using or checking your mail at an airport computer, Internet cafe, do remember to log out and clear your cookies.

YahooMail.com Features
The initial version of YahooMail.com was the Web 1.0 version where every inbox check, mail read and write requires a page refresh. With the advent of Gmail, YahooMail.com has now upgraded and has an Outlook look and feel.

There is a message preview panel that allows you to scroll through the list of messages with a preview pane that shows the full message where the scroll bar is. To the left are the different folders with the basic "InBox", "Drafts", "Sent", "Spam", "Thrash" folders. The new YahooMail.com is also integrated with a web based IM and showcase other applications such as Evite, Flickr, My Drive, etc.

The basic version of YahooMail.com is free and it is ad supported like many web services. The ad is found to the right of YahooMail.com and it is a banner ad which is non intrusive. Features from YahooMail.com includes the ability to view messages from your contact only with advanced email filtering. You can also share up to 50 photos or files at once with a maximum attachment size of 50MB. The new YahooMail.com also provides unlimited storage and therefore they have turned off the mail size column since it is less of a consideration to know how much space a message is taking.

Overall YahooMail.com is one of my favorite mail service. If you are willing to upgrade to YahooMail.com Plus for $2/month or $19.99 for the whole year, you can have YahooMail.com with no graphical ads, offline access with POP, 200 filters, no account expiration, live customer care, mail forwarding and address guard or disposable addresses.

YahooMail.com Download
www.yahoomail.com download allows you to download all your mail via POP to your mail client such as Outlook. However, you need to upgrade to YahooMail.com Plus.
